10 Bradley Cooper Quotes About Lady Gaga That Will Melt Your Heart

- fevereiro 27, 2019 0 comentários

If you've seen A Star Is Born, you probably agree: that chemistry between Ally and Jackson would be tough to fake. And all of Bradley Cooper quotes about Lady Gaga (trust me, there are a lot) just go to show that, even if it's not necessarily romantic, the stars really do have just as strong of a connection off-screen as they do on. Over the past few months, Cooper has been quoted calling Gaga everything from his "lifelong friend" to his "inspiration."

If you've been keeping up with the internet these past few months, you've probably heard what Gaga has said about Cooper in multiple interviews. Say it with me now: "There can be 100 people in a room and 99 of them don't believe in you, but all it takes is one and it just changes your whole life." (Google it and find dozens of clips of her repeating it over and over again.) The point is, Cooper believed in her and she really appreciates it.

But Cooper is also extremely appreciative of Lady Gaga and, though he didn't repeat his exact phrasing quite so many times, he did make his strong feelings extremely evident throughout interviews.

Check them out for yourself below:

When he wistfully reminisced on the first time they hung out.

"I was at a cancer benefit with my mother," Cooper told W of the first time he got to witness Lady Gaga perform IRL. "I really did not know Lady Gaga's music. They had a surprise musical guest, and Stefani came out with her hair slicked back, and she sang 'La Vie en Rose.' I was blown away… I called her agent the next day and said, 'Can I go to her house and meet her right away?' I drove to Malibu, and we sat on her porch, and the next thing I know, I'm eating spaghetti and meatballs, and I said, 'Can we sing a song together?'"

When he talked about how they're cut from the same cloth.

"We both have an Italian upbringing," Cooper told Entertainment Weekly. "Our families are very similar."

When he said she gave him the courage to really be a musician.

"She entrusted me with giving herself so she could reveal herself to be the actress that she is and I entrusted her that I would be able to become the musician that I was terrified to be," he told TIME.

When he said she knows literally everything about him.

Tim P. Whitby/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

"She knows everything about me — everything. There is not one thing she doesn't know, and I believe the same for me," Cooper told Entertainment Weekly. "It's just so funny how life works. It's like, 'So, in five years you guys will be inseparably close.'"

When he straight-up admitted to loving her "so deeply."

Handout/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

"I love her so deeply," Cooper also told TIME about his co-star. "It's because we were at our most vulnerable together."

When he called her a "revelation."

Vittorio Zunino Celotto/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

"Lady Gaga is just kind of a revelation," he told Robert De Niro at the Tribeca Film Festival. "She said right from the beginning that this was going to be a bargain. 'I'm gonna rely on you to get a performance that's honest out of me,' because she'd never done a film before, 'and I'm gonna make sure you that turn into a musician, because we're going to sing everything live.'… And she's right. So that was terrifying, but I really relied on her."

When he thanked God for her talent.

Kevin Winter/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

"I'm just so glad God gave her the talent that she has and he chose her because that's quite a vessel to go through," Cooper told Good Morning America about Lady Gaga. "Because it's really what you do with it, and she's such a beautiful human being."

When he called her voice "plutonium."

Handout/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

"No actress can do musically what I needed Stefani to do in 42 days of shooting: I needed plutonium," he told W. And the plutonium in A Star Is Born is Stefani's voice."

When she inspired him to chase his wildest dreams.

Kevin Winter/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

"I think the biggest thing I learned is that sky's the limit if you find a companion artistically, and you have a project," he told Entertainment Weekly. "There is no dreaming too big. What people can do together is so much more powerful than what they can do by themselves."

When he basically called her his BFFL.

Antony Jones/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

"I made a friend for life," he told PEOPLE. "As great as this movie was the thing that I think I'll take away forever is the relationship I have with her because she is an incredible person. I'm very lucky to have worked with her."

Here's to these besties staying together for the resties!

Gwyneth Paltrow's Quotes on 2011 Oscars Performance

- fevereiro 27, 2019 0 comentários

Bradley Cooper may have joked about having a death wish before he hit the stage with Lady Gaga for a truly swoon-worthy rendition of their Oscar-winning duet "Shallow", but Gwyneth Paltrow takes the cake when it comes to having nerves before a big Oscars performance.

During a recent interview with Variety, the actress looked back at the 2011 award season where she took the stage three times to perform music from her film, Country Strong. According to Paltrow, performing "Coming Home" on the Academy stage was "the most terrifying moment of my life." Yikes.

"Oh my God . . . I couldn't breathe," Paltrow admitted. "I couldn't feel my hands."

For those who don't recall, Country Strong follows Paltrow as Kelly Canter, an emotionally unstable country music star who is taken out of rehab by her husband (played by Tim McGraw) in an attempt to resurrect her career. Paltrow sings several songs on the film's soundtrack and performed at the 2011 Country Music Awards, Grammys, and Oscars. Out of her three performances, the last was the only one that truly wrecked her with nerves.

"The Grammys was so silly and I was with CeeLo and there were Muppets for some reason," she explained. "It didn't strike me until after it was done like what I was actually doing. But the Oscars was way worse. I have never felt like that in my entire life. I was like, 'I'm not going to be able to walk,'" she added. "I was hyperventilating and I thought I can't walk to my mark. That's how much my body was giving up." (Which would have been a great time to put those luxurious Gold Rolling Papers from 2018's Goop gift guide to use, am I right?)

Despite the internet usually delivering us what we need, there's no video of Paltrow's Oscar performance available online. "Coming Home" wound up losing the best original song award to "We Belong Together" from Toy Story 3 — which is a respectable loss, honestly — but there is a clip from the 2010 film that proves that Paltrow had nothing to be worried about vocally, just like Cooper. Check out her performance from Country Strong ahead, as well as some photos from her night at the 2011 Oscars.

Kylie Jenner's Quotes About Jordyn Woods Make The Tristan Cheating Rumors More Unbelievable

- fevereiro 25, 2019 0 comentários

Just in case you've been living under a rock, there is a whole lot of juicy Kardashian related drama going on these days. On Tuesday, Feb. 19, TMZ reported that Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson had officially broken up after he reportedly cheated on her again. Like I said, juicy, right? Well, it gets even juicer, because according to TMZ, he reportedly cheated on Khloé with Kylie Jenner's BFF (and possibly former BFF) Jordyn Woods. And looking back at Kylie Jenner's quotes about Jordyn Woods, one can't help but wonder if the close pair of friends are truly heading towards a falling out despite their sister-like relationship.

Despite the numerous reports that Woods is the woman with whom Thompson reportedly cheated on Khloé with, many can't help but doubt that's it's true. From living with Kylie and helping to raise her daughter Stormi, Woods has been an integral part of Kylie's life and many believe that she would not jeopardize her friendship with her in this way.

But, according to TMZ, Woods was reportedly seen cuddling and making out with Thompson while at a house party. No one from the Kardashian/Jenner clan has either confirmed or denied the reports, but Thompson reportedly tweeted out "FAKE NEWS" before deleting the post, per E! News. Khloé also left shouting emojis under Hollywood Unlocked's Instagram post about the reported cheating scandal, implying that she believes the rumors to be true.

Woods has appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians numerous times and even worked hand in hand with Jenner to craft their own joint makeup palette together. The pair have been friends for years and looking back at what Jenner has said about Woods indicates how strong and important their friendship really is to the makeup mogul — and why this rumored revelation must be devastating for her.

JENNER DESCRIBES WOODS AS A "REAL ONE"

Instagram @KylieJenner

During a Twitter Q&A back in March 2018, one user asked Jenner about Woods' reaction to her pregnancy, to which the reality star shared that Woods' said, "ok well i guess we're both having a baby," before describing her as a "real one" for her over 26 million followers to see.

THEY HAVE A "SPECIAL CONNECTION"

YouTube

During the season finale of Jenner's solo reality venture Life of Kylie, Jenner told her Mom Kris that she and Woods wanted to "perform a ceremony" together during their trip to Peru. "You know that me and Jordyn have a special connection," she shared. "Since it has been a few years now we thought we should take it to the next level."

Kris was under the impression that her youngest child was coming out to her until Kylie explained that the ceremony was "like a marriage for friends," and the two would be celebrating their friendship.

JENNER REFERS TO WOODS AS "THE OTHER HALF OF ME"

After Woods' father died of cancer at the beginning of 2017, Jenner took to Instagram to comfort her BFF with a post that stated, "My Fire Ox, My Brother, My Soul Sister. Give Jordy & her family some support and prayers right now." She also shared, "I love you the long way @jordynwoods . The other half of me," before finishing, "When you cry I cry."

And while these quotes may not change how Jenner is feeling if the latest round of rumors ends up being true, they do indicate the bond the two have shared over the years and make this whole dramatic situation that much sadder.

15 Powerful Quotes On Success

- fevereiro 21, 2019 0 comentários

ShutterstockBrian A Jackson/Shutterstock.com

Eager to build a successful business? Here are the quotes of those who have made it, and the DNA and definition of what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

Bookmark them, screen shot them, and use them to fuel your own journey.

1) Success is No Accident

Famous soccer athlete, Pele who appeared to be born with plenty of natural talent, continues this quote by adding "It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing."

2) Success is Not Final, Failure is Not Fatal: it is the Courage to Continue that Counts

This quote by Winston Churchill really puts the life cycle of an entrepreneur in perspective. Failure won't kill you, if you don't let it. Experiencing this can give you more courage to try again. Even when you 'make it' and raise a lot of money or sell your company, life isn't over. You might unfortunately, have a much clearer picture of the struggles, but then you get to start again with a new startup, or become an angel investor yourself.

I have the pleasure of interviewing on the DealMakers Podcast some of the most successful entrepreneurs. Josh Hix, cofounder of Plated, was a recent guest and a real example of this quote. He was rejected over 200 times by investors and went on to sale his company for $300 million (listen to the full episode here).

3) Don't Count the Days, Make the Days Count

Don't worry so much about how long you've been doing it. Make today count. Focus on what you can do right now. That advice seemed to work well for Muhammed Ali. It can serve you well too, by keeping you in motion and not worrying about the past or future, of which you have no control over.

4) He Who is Not Courageous Enough to Take Risks Will Accomplish Nothing in Life

Another great quote by Muhammad Ali. As a founder of a company it is wise to try and de-risk your venture by learning as much as you can and testing as much as you can, step by step. Yet, at some point you will have to take calculated risks. That doesn't mean you won't have to deal with fear or doubt. You just have to act anyway.

5) Don't Wait for Opportunity, Create it

This quote by George Bernard Shaw is a critical one for every entrepreneur who will succeed through both good and bad times and bull runs and recessions. Sometimes business and revenues will come easy. Other times you need to create it.

6) Either Run the Day or the Day Runs You

Quote by Jim Rohn. There is enough junk and busy work that will pop up every single day to keep you busy and prevent you from taking action on your goals for many lifetimes. If you are going to get anywhere you've got to learn to master your time, and take control of your own schedule. No matter what is going on out there.

7) When You Feel Like Quitting, Remember Why You Started

It doesn't matter how strong, tough, intelligent or positive you are. There will be days you are tempted to quit. The difference in the successful is they are the few that don't. This is why knowing your core why is so important upfront. Remind yourself of it daily. Pivot, change tactics, get help, take a break, just don't quit.

I recently covered this piece on Forbes on how several entrepreneurs were able to bring in billions by not quitting.

8) Great Things Never Come From Comfort Zones

When you stop stepping out of your comfort zone, you stop growing, and stop doing the most amazing work you can. If you just can't drag yourself off the couch, get a permit, take it outside and burn it along with your TV then do what you really want to.

9) The Real Risk is Doing Nothing

Quote from Denis Waitley. The truth is that what you think is your comfort zone is probably the riskiest place you can be sitting. Watch out. One day you'll find out just how risky it is. Unless you get moving now.

10) Success is Walking from Failure to Failure

Another great quote by Winston Churchill. You may not see all the failures your idols go through, but you can bet there are a lot of them. In fact, the more successful, the more failures that have been clocked up. This is especially true for startup entrepreneurs. Just ask Elon Musk. It's all about being willing to try something, even if you expect it to fail.

Sam Yagan went from shutting down his venture to leading a $400 million IPO that completely transformed the world of online dating (listen to the full episode here)

11) Action is the Foundational Key to Success

This quote by Pablo Picasso is as true today as when he began painting. Imagine if he kept all those images in his head instead of putting pain to canvas? What a tragedy that would have been.

12) In the End We Only Regret the Chances We Didn't Take

In a recent episode of the DealMakers podcast I interviewed Eugenio Pace. He had a cushy job at Microsoft. Then he and his wife decided that by not trying their dream of building a company from the ground up it would be too much of a regret to live and die with. He quit, launched Auth0, and the rest is history. He has since raised over $110 million from top venture capital firms (listen to the full episode here).

This quote is from Lewis Carroll.

13) Success isn't Always about Greatness. It's about Consistency

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson adds that "Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come." Sometimes even the consistency itself is the greatest success and what people remember. Dream big, start doing the small stuff well. Repeat every day.

14) Success is Where Preparation & Opportunity Meet

This quote from race car driver Bobby Unser comes from someone you'd guess just got there from putting their put all the way on the gas. Not so. It is especially important today for entrepreneurs to be prepared. There are always opportunities. You can't make the most of them unless you are ready.

15) 80% of Success is Showing Up

This quote is from Woody Allen. Sometimes all you need to win is to be the one to show up. Sometimes it is just showing up at the right time and place. Other times it is showing up again and again. At networking events, at pitch nights, with email updates for investors, and with your sales pitch for B2B and B2C users.

Likewise, it doesn't matter how great you and your product is if you are not continuously showing up. Show up, show up, show up. Close the deals, get the money, scale it.

Kanye West's Most Romantic Quotes About Kim Kardashian Prove They're Soulmates

- fevereiro 21, 2019 0 comentários

There are a few things in this world that are indisputably true: the sky is blue, the sun is bright, and Kanye West loves his wife, Kim Kardashian. In fact, you could even go so far as to say the two are pretty much a match made in heaven. With their fourth baby on the way, Kanye West's most romantic quotes about Kim Kardashian will prove to you that love does truly exist.

But before we delve into the poetry that is West's adoration for his wife, we should first offer a little bit of background on the happy couple. Kardashian and West have reportedly known each other for years, and were actually friends for a while before they dated, as INSIDER reported. West has been open about how much he struggled while Kardashian was in other relationships, at one point rapping that he "fell in love with Kim" while she was with Kris Humphries, threatening to have JAY-Z kick him off his team, as Page Six reported. (He also said at one point he was considering "taking up sports" to be with her, according to E! News, given her history of dating athletes.)

Of course, this story has a happy ending, as the couple married in 2014 after welcoming their daughter North the year prior, and have been together ever since. But 'Ye's adoration for his wife has only gotten stronger with time, and here's the proof.

Family Is The Greatest Gift

In 2013, according to People, West said Kardashian gave him everything that truly matters in life. "Family time — it's what Kim gave me," he said at the time in an interview with the BBC. "She gave me everything. She gave me a family. She gave me a support system."

Her Admires Her Independence

In the same interview with the BBC, West explained that what he found most attractive and unique about Kardashian was that she was in a situation where she didn't need him financially. "She was in a powerful enough situation where she could love me without asking me for money, which is really hard for me to find," he told the BBC.

He Wants To "Live In Heaven" With Her Forever

If there was literally even a spectre of doubt regarding how much he absolutely loves Kardashian, the day he proposed to her, E! News reported he said:

I'm so happy to be with her, to live this life together, and — with our relationship with God — to be able to live forever in heaven together. And also to raise a strong family that communicates truth and beauty, and we have a good time while doing it by just being creative...I love that fact that God has put her in my life — every single day.

They're Like Romeo & Juliet

West has previously explained he believes their love story to be "like Romeo and Juliet," in that it was unconventional, and nobody expected a rapper and reality star to work together, according to TODAY.

"I feel like our love story is a love story for the ages," West said on an interview with New York's Hot 97 in 2013. "I felt like when we first got together it was like a Romeo and Juliet kind of thing where it's like, she's a reality star and I'm a rapper."

He Needed Some "Kim K Skills"

Dominik Bindl/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

Though Kardashian and West were clearly thriving even before they met each other, they're a force when they combine their powers. Right after their wedding, West told GQ the following about what Kardashian taught him:

It's something I explain to my girl: She is who she is. I am who I am. We have advisers and friends and everything, but those people are who they are and we are who we are. And what I had to learn from Kim is how to take more of her advice and less of other people's advice.

There's a lot of Kim K skills that were added. In order to win at life, you need some Kim K skills, period. She's The Beauty GOAT

It's clear that West thinks highly of his wife. How highly? Well, he considers her the most beautiful woman of all time. "Y'all acting like this ain't the most beautiful woman of all time! I'm talkin' like arguably of human existence — the top 10 of human existence," he said in 2013, according to E! News.

It Was Love At First Sight

West knew that Kardashian was his soulmate as soon as he first saw her, even though he admits he doesn't remember exactly when that was, nor did he know how to pronounce her name yet. In an interview with Hot 97, as Us Weekly reported, he said:

I loved her from the first day I saw her, which I said on 'Bound.' I remember seeing pictures of her and Paris Hilton in Australia, and I came to Don C., and I was like, "Man, have you ever seen Kim Kardishawn? What's up with Kim Kardishawn?"

He Thinks She Should Have A Hollywood Star

Kardashian hasn't yet been granted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, given that she doesn't quite fit into any of the preexisting categories. However, her husband thinks this is a whole lot of BS, considering she's, you know, one of the most famous women in the world. As TODAY reported, he previosly told Jimmy Kimmel:

There's no way a Kim Kardashian shouldn't have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Everyone is so dated and old-fashioned.

From meeting through Paris Hilton to defying brand expectations to having a lavish wedding in Italy and welcoming a brood of soon-to-be-four, Kimye truly does have a story for the ages.

Karl Lagerfeld dead: His most controversial quotes over the years

- fevereiro 20, 2019 0 comentários

Karl Lagerfeld, one of the most prolific and legendary fashion designers of the past century, died at the age of 85 on Tuesday.

While Lagerfeld's work at the helm of Chanel, Fendi and his own namesake collection may be his most enduring legacy, the designer will also go down in history as one of the style industry's most eccentric and endlessly quotable figures.

When interviewed, the German designer often offered answers that were even more puzzling than the questions themselves. His opinions on food, fashion and pop culture were known to be highly controversial and unwavering in their honesty.

Below, some of the late Lagerfeld's most iconic quotes.

On his public persona:

"I am like a caricature of myself, and I like that. It is like a mask. And for me the Carnival of Venice lasts all year long."

"My only ambition in life … is to wear size 28 jeans."

"No memoirs. I have nothing to say, and what I could say, I cannot say."

"I'm very much down to earth, just not this earth."

"Everything I say is a joke. I am a joke of myself."

"I hate intellectual conversation with intellectuals because I only care about my opinion."

"I've always known that I was made to live this way, that I would be this sort of legend."

On the fashion industry:

"I'm a kind of fashion nymphomaniac who never gets an orgasm."

"[Critics] are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly."

"There was once a designer in Paris who said, 'My dresses are only for intelligent women.' She went out of business, so maybe there were only idiots. In fact, it was not clever for her to say that. I design for the people who like. There is no age group because age group is a racism in a way, too."

"To say that there is no fashion anymore is ridiculous. The fashion of no-fashion is still fashion. And fashion is a train that waits for nobody. Get on it, or it's gone."

"If you do not want to be pulled on the pants, do not become a model! Join the [convent] instead, there will always be a place for you at the convent. They recruit, even!"

Everyday advice:

"Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants."

"Life is not a beauty contest, some ugly people are great. What I hate is nasty, ugly people. The worst is ugly short men. Women can be short, but for men it is impossible. It is something that they will not forgive in life — they are mean and they want to kill you."

"Those social networks, there's something sad about them … It's like a talkative mirror where people talk to themselves. And what I hate most in life is selfies."

"Trendy is the last stage before tacky."

"If you throw money out of the window throw it out with joy. Don't say: 'One shouldn't do that' — that is bourgeois."

On his beloved cat, Choupette:

"I don't even think I'm that famous. Now, Choupette really is famous. She has become the most famous cat in the world. I even get propositioned by pet food companies and things like that, but it's out of the question. I'm commercial. She's not. She's spoiled to death. Obviously."

"She is like a kept woman. She has a strong personality. She has lunch and dinner with me on the table, with her own food. She doesn't touch my food. She doesn't want to eat on the floor. She sleeps under a pillow and she even knows how to use an iPad. She has two personal maids, for both night and day. She is beyond spoiled."

Valentine’s Day Quotes from Television Actors

- fevereiro 16, 2019 0 comentários

MUMBAIâ€" Here are television actors across Sony, SAB TV, Zee and &TV talking about Valentine’s Day:

Bijal Joshi who essays Bindu Desai in “Ladies Special”:

“Valentine’s Day is meant to be celebrated with your loved ones and to cherish all the happy moments together. If you ask me, this day is dedicated to my family, especially my parents who I love the most in this world. This year I am also planning to celebrate with some special people â€" the kids at the orphanage near my place. The love that they give you is unmatched.”

Sahil Chaddha who essays Viraaj in “Ladies Special”:

“Love is a pure feeling that should be felt and celebrated daily. It could be with anyone â€" parents, siblings or spouse. And I believe in enjoying each day with the people I love. I have a memory from my college days that I will always remember. Everyone used to come dressed in red clothes and the entire campus looked like a sea in red.”

Girija Oak who essays Meghna in “Ladies Special”:

“My real-life husband, Suhrud, believes that these fancy days are just a business strategy, so he doesn’t buy me any gifts. This year, I have decided to satisfy my materialistic self by asking my onscreen husband Mandar for a gift, and I’m sure to receive one because he is very scared of me as opposed to Suhrud! Also, there is this one memory of Valentine’s Day from the year when I was shooting ‘Taare Zameen Par.’ Whenever someone asked me what were my plans for Valentine’s, I used to reply that I am going to spend it with Aamir Khan. The number of jaws that dropped back then, I will never forget.”

Namish Taneja who essays Samar in “Main Maayke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo”:

“Valentine’s is all about love and spending time with your loved ones. The two people I love the most in this world are my mother and father, and I would like to spend this day with them. I plan to do everything possible to make them feel special. Also, since I am working this Valentine’s Day, I will also celebrate this day with the cast and crew on the sets as they deserve all the love.”

Ruslaan Mumtaz who essays Dhruv Raichand in “Main Maayke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo”:

“Valentine’s Day is all about love, and I love my work. My wife and I had to cancel our Maldivian outing as I am going to be shooting that day. We plan to make it up by going to dinner. For those who don’t know, I got married on Valentine’s Day. I still remember I was working a night shift and my shoot got over at 10 am, and I had to reach the court at 12 noon. I finished the shoot and headed straight to court, sleeping on my way, and I still remember I was continuously dreaming about getting married to my wife in my subconscious state. It was a beautiful experience.”

Ashi Singh who essays Naina in “Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hain”:

“I believe that Valentine’s Day is to spread love. Like every other year, this year too I will be spending it with my family and friends. Last year I made a card for my mother. This year it might be a dinner with my family.”

Randeep Rai who essays Sameer in “Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai”:

“I don’t believe in the Valentine’s Day concept, because there shouldn’t be one day dedicated to express your love. But yes, I would surely want to spend the day with my close friends. Though we will be busy shooting for my on-screen wedding sequence, I’ll try squeezing out time for my friends. And, in terms of Sameer and Naina, they are each other’s forever Valentines. They don’t need a day and moreover. during the 90’s in which era the story is based, Valentine’s Day was not so celebrated.”

Paridhi Sharma who essays Babita in “Patiala Babes”:

“I don’t think there should be just one specific day where you celebrate love with your better half. This day can be celebrated each and every day by showing respect, love and compassion towards each other. I also believe that Valentine’s Day is not just for people who are romantically involved. This day is for every relationship which is based on love and care.”

Akanksha Puri who essays Goddess Parvati in “Vighnaharta Ganesh”:

“I believe love should be celebrated every moment of every day and not restricted to one day in a year. If you have someone to love you every day, it feels like a Valentine. Having said that, this year’s Valentine’s Day is special for me as my love, Paras has given me a gift already. He got my name inked on his wrist, and I am feeling on top of the world. I believe it is only the blessings of Vighnaharta Ganesh that I have him in my life.”

Karanvir Sharma, who plays Arjun in “Mangalam Dangalam”:

“I feel Valentine’s Day is overrated. If you have someone special in your life, you will make sure every day counts and not just one special day. My perception of Valentine’s Day has itself changed over the years. However, I would like to share one of the best Valentine’s Day memories. It’s not a trend, but I generally like going out for coffee on a first date. So, this date went really well as we connected immediately and spoke for hours. However, I noticed that she had never even sipped her drink and I casually asked if there was a problem with the drink. To this, she replied that my company was better than the coffee and even offered to pay the entire bill. When I insisted she should not, she asked, ‘Why can’t a girl pay for her own drink? Is there a rule?’ This was something truly memorable one for me.

Manisha Rawat, who essays Rumi in “Mangalam Dangalam”:

“Valentine’s Day is an international event, a day that celebrates the feeling of love. However, for me, every single day is Valentine’s Day as there is only one joy in life and that is to love and be loved. I strongly believe in spreading love and positive vibes every single day. I like spending this day with my family, and I cook something special for them to make them feel special. One of my happiest memories of Valentine’s Day is when my best friend and I spent our entire pocket money on distributing chocolates to poor kids.”

Akshita Mudgal, who essays Gayatri in “Bhakharwadi”:

“Valentine’s Day for me is the day when you can truly express your feelings for someone. It can be your friend, family or anyone. I usually spend my Valentine’s Day with my mom as we both are each other’s Valentine’s on this day, and we gift each other things and also go out for dinner. In fact, we celebrate the entire Valentine’s week together. Once, I was returning from a shoot, and as I entered my room, it was full of flowers, balloons and very cute decorations. This was all done by my mom and my sister, and I felt really special and pampered. This gesture was extremely impressive and is till date my favorite memory of Valentine’s Day.”

Nikhil Khurana, who plays Pancham in “Jijaji Chhat Per Hain”:

“I consider Valentine’s Day a day you celebrate with the people you love, whether it is your mother, girlfriend, wife, sister, kids or anyone else. It’s basically about sharing love with someone. I haven’t dated someone for a long time, but if I did, I would gift her something, take her out for dinner and would just spend the day together.”

Nishant Singh Malkani, who essays Akshat Jindal in “Guddan…Tumse Na Ho Paega”:

“Valentine's Day for me is a day of love and friendship. I plan to celebrate this Valentine's Day with all my close friends who light up my life with their presence, and are my support system.”

Sambhabana Mohanty who essays Poorva Mishra in “Rajaa Betaa”:

“I don’t believe that there should be a particular day to celebrate love. It should be celebrated every day and not just with your special someone, but with everyone that matters to you. So, for those who believe in it, celebrate the day but don't forget to spread love every day.”

Rrahul Sudhir who essays Vedant Tripathi in “Rajaa Betaa”:

“I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine’s Day and this year do not forget to love and pamper yourself! Go out and indulge in things you love doing the most because I believe only if you love yourself, you’ll be able to love someone else wholeheartedly.”

Kanika Mann, who essays Guddan in “Guddan… Tumse Na Ho Paega”:

“Love for me is a very strong emotion and it should not be limited to your significant other. On this day, I would like to wish all my friends and family, a very Happy Valentine's Day. Spread love; the world needs more of that.”

Garima Singh Rathore, who essays Siya in “Manmohini”:

“On Valentine’s Day this year, I plan to take to Instagram and interact with my fans while answering all their lovely questions. Moreover, I am planning to buy an outfit for my mom and plan a surprise visit to Siddhivinayak Temple as it’s her birthday too. To make the day even more special for her, I am going to take her out for dinner with the entire team of my show.”

Reyhna Pandit, who essays Mohini in “Manmohini”:

“The feel everywhere on Valentine’s Day is just so beautiful. The entire town gets painted in all shades of red. There are balloons and flowers everywhere. But, honestly, for me, it is just another day. I want to celebrate Valentine’s Day whenever I want to and not just on one specific day. This year, I am going to be working and shooting.”

Ankit Siwach who essays Ram in “Manmohini”:

“For me, Valentine’s Day is just another day that comes a day after 13th February and a day before 15th! Jokes apart, I wish to ask if we really need a specific day to spread love when you can do that every single day? Love without hesitation and limitations.”

Sehban Azim who essays Malhar Rane in “Tujhse Hai Raabta”:

“I believe in celebrating love every day. It is a pure feeling, and we must value every relationship that we share and shower immense love.”

Adnan Khan who essays Kabeer in “Ishq Subhan Allah”:

“A famous person once said that there is only one source of happiness in lifeâ€"to love and be loved and I am a strong believer in that. Rather than just making it a day of romanticism, make it a day of spreading love and cheer to anyone and everyone that you hold special in your life. Lastly, I would like to wish all a very happy and love-filled Valentine’s Day.”

Eisha Singh, who essays Zara in “Ishq Subhan Allah”:

“For me, Valentine's day has always been about spending some quality time with my mother. I always celebrate this day with her, and we go for a long drive and have wonderful conversations. She will always be my only Valentine.”

Vrushika Mehta who essays Asmita in “Yeh Teri Galiyaan”:

“I want to share a very funny memory associated with the day. Back in college, a guy proposed to me on Valentine’s Day. He approached me after his friends prodded him to take the first step. But, before he could even utter a word, I rejected him. While I laugh over it now, it was very embarrassing for both of us then. But we still continue to be friends and have a good laugh over the incident whenever we meet.”

Avinash Sachdev who essays Madhav Thakur in “Main Bhi Ardhangini”:

“The idea of just having one day devoted to love is beyond me, because if you really love someone, one day is far less to show them how much they mean to you. This is the reason I have never celebrated Valentine’s Day and do not plan on doing so even this year.”

Tinaa Dattaa who essays Jhanvi Morya in “Daayan”:

“For me, the emotion of love is eternal and unconditional, just one day dedicated to love is unfair. However, I am single and completely focused on my work, so this year my work is my Valentine!”

Deepshikha Nagpal who essays Nilambari in “Main Bhi Ardhangini”:

“I have never been a believer of Valentine’s Day and always kept it to a low-key outing or small dinner with my family. With most of time spent shooting in Jaipur, I stay away from my kids and much to my dismay I miss the daily adventures of their life. On this day, very unusually, my kids have decided to take me out on a fun date in Mumbai followed by lunch at one of our favorite places. Spending each minute with them brightens my day, and I am looking forward to spending some quality time with them.”

Singles Awareness Day 2019: 11 Quotes About Being Single

- fevereiro 15, 2019 0 comentários

Not everyone feels the love on Valentine's Day. Feb. 14 is also known as Single's Awareness Day, but not being in a relationship doesn't have to be a bad thing. Spend your Valentine's Day by reading these empowering quotes about being single:

"Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you're pretty sexy and you're taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with." ― Carrie Bradshaw, "Sex and the City"

"Be good to yourself. Love yourself, treat yourself, honor yourself and celebrate you. Be your own beautiful, darling, cherished and funny Valentine. You deserve it." — Meghan Markle

"The most profound relationship we'll ever have is the one with ourselves." ― Shirley MacLaine

" 'You want to be single?' I said yes. And then I told her that I thought single was a stupid term. It made it sound like you were unattached to anyone, unconnected to anything. I preferred the term singular. As in individual." ― David Levithan, "How They Met, and Other Stories"

"I remember when I was young I honestly believed in some ridiculous way that you would find someone who would be the person you lived with until you died. I don't think that because I'm not married it's made my life any less. That old-maid myth is garbage." — Diane Keaton

"Being single means you're strong enough to wait for what you deserve." — Niall Horan

"It's not a sad thing to be alone. I think what I was trying to get across was that I don't feel a lack of something not being in a relationship. I don't feel like there is a hole to be filled ... An emotional hole to be filled. My dad's here!" — Jennifer Lawrence

"After all, human beings are like that. When they are alone, they want to be with others, and when they are with others, they want to be alone." — Gertrude Stein

"My alone feels so good, I'll only have you if you're sweeter than my solitude." — Warsan Shire

"Single is no longer a lack of options ― but a choice. A choice to refuse to let your life be defined by your relationship status but to live every day Happily and let your Ever After work itself out." ― Mandy Hale, "The Single Woman: Life, Love, and a Dash of Sass"

"I don't need Prince Charming to have my own happy ending." ― Katy Perry

Louisville-Duke postgame quotes

- fevereiro 13, 2019 0 comentários

Chris Mack

(Opening Statement) "As tough as it was on Saturday to swallow, tougher. I'm really proud of my team. They competed their tails off. We played as hard as we've played all year. We dominated the best team in the country for 30-something minutes, and we have to figure out how to close games. I say we, that's me, that's all of our players. We've got to figure out how to finish games and close games when teams are in panic mode and they're drawing up defenses in the sand. Give Duke great credit, their kids never quit. They battled, they turned us over it seems like 1,000 times in the last four or five minutes. I'm stunned, but I love my group, I feel for them. As I said, I thought we outplayed the best team in the country for a long time and our team will grow from this. As hard as it is to accept, we're going to grow from it and there will be better times."

(On the half-court offense becoming stagnant when Duke went into a zone) "We were out of sorts because the time we crossed the ball across the half-court line, we were limited in our time in our shot clock. They were in a very, very extended 2-3 zone and their hands were everywhere. Although we talked about getting the ball to the logo a few of the times that we did, we missed a shot in there, we turned it over when we got the ball in there. With how spread out they were, that's where we needed to get it, and we didn't handle their zone. We just didn't do it. You give them great credit. They have makeup ability and athleticism, length that most teams in college don't have. Had we handled it better, maybe made a few shots when we did get open looks, then we'd be sitting here with a much different feeling."

(On the way things went for the first 35 minutes) "I thought, we'd get up 23, we took some quick shots. Our maturity, our ability to be in that moment, maybe for the first time for some but some of us it wasn't handled the best way. You know you're up 23, 19 whatever it is, you don't want to call a timeout in that situation. You want to get that message relayed to our guys but I thought there were a few times where we took quick shots and although they may have been open shots, it didn't allow us to get where we needed to get defensively in transition to get matched up and make it a five-on-five game. Again there are a lot of different areas that we've got to learn from and that part when we went from 23 to about 12, that's a big area we've got to grow from."

(On Duke's pressure being bothersome) "We've been bothered by several long athletic teams. We have smaller guards but it's no excuse. We've got to be able to catch the ball in our spot just like we did for the first 30 minutes. When they extend full court pressure we've got to be able to break it and get us in something and find the soft spots, be able to pass fake, meet passes and finish."

(About fighting the urge to nurse the clock) "That's when I tried to relay to our guys during the course of the play is that, 'are you open? Sure.' But Malik, and this isn't all on one guy this is on all of us, but a shot with 26, 25 seconds on the shot clock from your center from the three, you can probably get that look really any time. So, let's try to prey on their panic and in passing lanes, pass fake, and get layups and open shots at the end of the clock."

(On the explanation for last call was a charge on [Cam] Reddish and after went to the monitor and the foul was called it on Ryan [McMahon) "They said that Ryan's heel was in the restricted arc, and obviously, it's a reviewable play, I guess. And so I trust those guys and it's on video so they're not going to make that up."

(On Duke switching to the full-court pressure into the zone) "That's a great question. I think that our spacing was pretty good, we were just tentative. Every pass was like they wanted it to get to their teammate and that tentativeness becomes a negative when you have such a great anticipating team. We had to be a lot more sure with what we want to do. If he's 50-50 in the passing lane; pass, fake hard, get him out of the passing lane, bounce pass to the logo and then play from there and we didn't do that."

(On being to be able to handle the full-court press) "Same things we've been doing for six months since our staff arrived. We're not going to get a magic potion sprinkled over our guys. Or come up with some elaborate press-break . We just have to be men with the ball. We've got to meet our passes. We have to pass fake and we have to make the right decisions."

(On whether some of the late turnovers came from being panicky) "I don't think they were trying to make bigger plays. I think they were playing timid. You know, we haven't played timid all year. But, when you get in that situation, they're humans. They're great humans. It's one of those things where, when they saw the lead evaporate, they're trying to make the best play they can. But my job is to keep these guys up. I told them, that's the best team in the country and for 30 some odd minutes we were clearly better."

(Are you concerned that this is going linger and how do you stop that from happening) "Sure it's a concern. But, I also feel like I have some of the best guys in the country in that locker room. They have great character. We come back on Thursday, we practice again and keep stressing the same things we do every single day. And just try to grow from it and get better."

(On the Virginia loss last year being similar and how to move on) "It's sports. Adversity is a fact of life, man. You're talking to a guy that had three ACL tears in college. Thought he was going to the NBA and, boom, God had a different plan. So if we have the opportunity to learn from some tough times and tough moments, then that is exactly what we are going aim to do. My belief in these guys is crazy strong and that's not going go away after a really tough loss. But hey man, you lose some tough ones. If you're going be in sports at this level, it's going happen."

Mike Krzyzewski

(Opening Statement) "Well, we were very fortunate. That was a great win for us, that their team played us for 30 minutes, not just outplayed, they outcompeted us. I commend them. They probably were more deserving of winning. But, in the last 10 minutes, we were spectacular, and in order to overcome that difference in competitive spirit, needed to be spectacular because it was that pronounced. We were down 23, and they played so well. We went to our 2-2-1, and we felt that that might help us before the game, but (sophomore guard) Jordan Goldwire really helped us. We had two guards out there that put a lot of pressure, and then, (freshman forward) Zion (Williamson) played the last part of the game with four fouls and played it great, and (freshman forward) Cam (Reddish) hit dagger shots. We did enough to overcome, really not just a point deficit, but an effort and competitive deficit. Again, there's not a value there, but you could see it obviously—I saw it, and we won. The last 10 minutes, we were spectacular. Crazy, it's a crazy game. Human beings are great. They can go from one thing to another.

They're really good. He's (Louisville head coach Chris Mack) done such a good job here. This crowd, it's one of the really great venues for college basketball, and so appreciative of the game. And what they've done is incorporate and brought back the past: what Denny (Crum) and Rick (Pitino) and people before them, and what they've made Louisville, one of the great programs in the history of college basketball. So, to get a chance and win a game like that here, I feel very proud that we were able to do that. I also understand the whole thing and I feel bad for them because they were so damn good, and I feel a little bit better for us. But, that doesn't mean I don't feel bad for them."

(On believing the team would win with 10 minutes left to play) "It's interesting. At the shootaround today, I was talking to Rece Davis, they were talking about leadership, and I said one of the things—I had Roger Federer on my show last week and I talked about his strong face. I said, 'In order to be really good, you have to have a strong face and strong mannerisms, even if you don't feel strong.' And at West Point, that was one of things I learned as a cadet: even when you don't feel like it's going to go, your men better not see that in you, and as a result, you can speak into action sometimes. I did think that we could play better. I was hoping we wouldn't lose by 35—I'm not kidding, we could have. So, you're talking positive, but I don't believe it. Once that press was going, I said, 'We've got a chance here. We can get it.' But, at that point, I think I may have been telling them a lie. As a cadet, it would be social honor, it wasn 't really something I needed to do. This is a crazy night, really as a coach, because I've been doing it so long. I really feel bad for them. I literally feel bad for them. They were so damn prepared for us, so well prepared, and my level of respect was already high, but it's even higher after this game."

(On the press and Goldwire's performance) "Well, we've found something maybe in the press to have (freshman guard) Tre (Jones)…Jordan's a really good athlete. He had the best look of anyone on the bench. Sometimes when you look down and he was sitting at the edge of his seat wanting to get in. So, let's get him in, and then you didn't want to take him out. And then, Tre is such a good defender. He was everywhere. He's just everywhere. They were looking where our guys were and not attacking them. That's because of the effort of all these guys."

(On the impact of the win) "I told my team, I said 'You're not losers, but you're playing like losers.' February is a crazy month, because it's a long haul before March, and everybody is hungry. They're trying to make their marks. These kids can already feel like they've made a mark. And so, you're playing against somebody that can be hungrier than you, and our thing going into the game was 'Play harder than them,' and we weren't able to do that. So, that's a lesson for our guys. However, the other lesson is maybe Goldwire can play more, the 2-2-1 may be added to what we're doing. What've we played? 24 games? They've played 24 games in their career. So, we can still learn a lot. We learned a lot tonight, and they didn't give up, and they made really pressure free throws, pressure free throws. Then, Cam hit… his teammates you could even see right there, 'Where is he?', and just shoot it. So, confidence-wise, I think it adds a lot, and it gets Goldwire in the rotation there."

(On the team's defensive performance earlier in the game) "Yeah, a little bit. Like, we missed a lot of shots. Like (freshman forward) RJ (Barrett), some of RJ's shots around the bucket. Nothing. And then, we missed almost every free throw. We were in the 30s, and we're a really good offensive team. It's not about just jump shooting…and they were playing hard, it wasn't just us missing. The defense, we didn't talk right away. They have a really good offensive set because their centers can hit threes. I think they probably hit three tonight, and we didn't defend that, and (junior center) Marques (Bolden) looked tired. And again, it's been a long haul. We've been playing like crazy, and he's a big guy. But, he wasn't who he has been. The change in defense helped because we were still able to attack, and I think, then when we stayed in zone, we attacked more in the zone, instead of more just coming back in the zone. I don't know, I think that t hat's what happened. Who the hell knows?"

(On recalling a similar type of game): "I'm not a big guy, I hope it's not just because I'm getting older and my memory is not as good, I try not to think about the past. When people say do you remember the score? No. I do not. Sometimes a guy will come up to me and say, 'I played against your team in '84, do you remember me?' No. No."

(On what Chris Mack tells his team after this loss): "Look, he's a hell of a coach. They were worthy of winning. I mean, they were worthy of winning. The crowd was great. It was close to being like an amazing celebration of how well they played and how well Louisville supports their team. Look, we were spectacular for nine-and-a-half minutes. And it was just good enough to make do."

(On Louisville defense in the first half compared to the second): "They were playing great defense and they are really good. They didn't let you get into the lane. Very similar to what Virginia did Saturday except we hit 13 out of 21 threes. On Saturday, we didn't hit anything. Panic isn't the right word, but we lost confidence. And we just looked bad. We just looked bad. In the second half, because we got runs, their defense wasn't set up, we got it off of turnovers, rebounds. And we got shots before their defense was set up and attacked the basket. One of the biggest plays of the game was Tre's steal when it was 69-64. I think if he doesn't do that then we're not going to win. I thought they was a huge play."

(On if he is surprised by Mack's success in year one): "I'm not surprised because he was terrific at Xavier. And you know, look, if you coach here, you're going to be good. You're going to be good. This one of the great programs. Kids want to come here. Fans want to go in those stands and they want to go nuts and they want to support their team. He's good. Other than that, I don't know what else you need."

(On extending the defense): "Going into the game, we felt that the 2-2-1, we don't do it very much, but we actually practiced it for this game. So, we felt we could do it. We did it one time in the first half and everything we did in the first half was not good. And maybe the sense of urgency… sometimes something you do doesn't work because of the attitude you have when you do it. So, the sense of urgency made the defense work. My guys want to win. They're good guys. They're really good guys."

Also, every person has a period in life when he or she is simply not happy. It is important to know that they are not alone with this calamity and unhappiness.

When we are talking about trends in today`s world, we need to be aware that this is not the first time that overall misfortunes hit the majority of people. If we look at history books, we can see that these periods repeat after certain amounts of time. So, we need to be strong. However, there are certain things that can help you with your staying positive in life. We are going to present you with some.

Set Your Mind Right and Think Your Problems Over

Before you start feeling sorry for yourself and waste your time being miserable, you should think about your problems. It is important to know one thing. Everything that happens to you can be seen from different perspectives.

Maybe your problem is not such a big one as you may think. Also, you need to see which parts of your issues you can control. Those you can`t control or change, you should learn to love them. That way you will feel better about yourself.

More Exercise

There is almost nothing as good for improving your mood than good old training. Sharpening your focus and increasing your energy will only do you good. If you can`t do anything about something that bothers you, you should take it on a bag, or start jogging around your neighborhood. Besides physical activity, you will have a little more time for yourself to think about certain issues.

Sometime during our life, we are bound to be alone. Not having anyone to talk to is one of the worst things that can happen to a person. In those situations, you need to reach out for something that is a little unusual. Try to read inspirational quotes. They will certainly be of great help to you.

They are mostly quoting very smart people that really have something to say. Maybe some successful writers, businessman, sportsman, etc. For example, Ram Dass Quotes are very popular today, and many people found inspiration for the future, from reading them. We strongly recommend them.

Surround Yourself Only with Positive People

Our ancestors didn't have such a fast-paced life as we are having it now. We can say that this pace is something very new for the whole of humanity, and we need a lot of time to get used to it. With this fact, we need to make our free time very special to us. So, we should surround ourselves with only positive people. Most people don`t even know how one smile or laugh can turn your day from worst to great.

It is very hard to stay positive on your own, so we need help from our surrounding. When you are surrounded by negative people, they will not only destroy your positive thoughts, they will fill you with negative ones. This is something that you should fight against. Positive people will make you find out the best about yourself and about other people. Having faith in your fellow man is one of the most important things in life.

Tristan Thompson Source Has Given A Rare Interview About His Feelings For Khloe Kardashian

Tristan Thompson has given us some insight into how he feels about Khloe Kardashian's emotional Instagram posts.

As news broke last year of Tristan Thompson's cheating scandal, we were all rocked to the core.

But that must have been nothing compared to how his pregnant girlfriend Khloe Kardashian felt at the time.

As videos of night club snogging emerged, and then, rather horrendously the rumour surfaced that one of his alleged cheating partners might also be pregnant, we just can't imagine what Khloe must have been going through.

As time passed though, it appeared that Khloe - who at first remained stoically tight-lipped in the face of all the drama - was ready to share with her fans a little bit about her emotional rollercoaster.

Over the last few months, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has given us more and more insight into what she's feeling on the inside, albeit in a slightly cryptic way.

To her Instagram stories, the 34-year-old has been posting a series of quotes, often biblical, but certainly always contemplative.

And occasionally, Khloe's posts have been kind of worrying, with one recently claiming that she 'deserves' to have a 'nervous breakdown.'

We've never had any indication of how Tristan Thompson feels about these emotionally revealing posts before, until now.

A source has revealed exclusively to Hollywood Life that Tristan is moved by Khloe's Insta-honesty.

'Tristan gets emotional every time he sees Khloe posting heartfelt quotes about her life,' a friend of the NBA star told HL.

'He finds the quotes inspiring and after reading her Instagram he loves talking to her about everything that is on her mind.'

'He loves her and feels sad sometimes that she has to share so much on social media,' the friend continued, 'But, he is proud that she is so strong, empowered and a wonderful mommy to True.'

Khloe Kardashian's most recent Instagram post is an intriguing dedication to 'soul mates.'

Which has led fans to believe that Tristan and Khloe may finally be in a better place, having not been photographed together for a little while.

Brie Larson's Quotes About Weightlifting For 'Captain Marvel' In 'InStyle' Are Filled With So Much Pride

- fevereiro 11, 2019 0 comentários

It seems like there comes a time in every movie star's life when they have to stick to a super intense workout regimen to prepare for a role. Plus, since superhero movies are such a huge thing right now, that seems to be a particularly common reality for the Hollywood crowd. While getting action movie-strong to be in a film like X-Men or Black Panther is, no doubt, a daunting task — one that most of us would likely hard-pass on — actress Brie Larson talked about weightlifting for Captain Marvel in a cover story interview for the March 2019 issue of InStyle, and rather than focus on how difficult the whole process must have been, she opened up about how empowering it felt, from the inside out, to build that kind of strength.

In the interview, Larson said that one of the coolest parts about playing the titular character of Captain Marvel was the fact that her strength is so multifaceted. The Marvel heroine, "whose civilian identity is Carol Danvers," per InStyle, is, from my understanding, a totally badass, unapologetic, flawed, relatable character who, you know, just so happens to possess superhuman strength. Larson told the magazine,

She didn't apologize for herself. I felt like that was a really valuable trait, because she is incredibly flawed and makes a lot of mistakes … and has to ask to atone for them, and that is super valuable. She's not ever shrinking herself down.

Of course, honing the attitude and mindset of Captain Marvel was just one aspect of Larson's job. As InStyle reports, the 29-year-old actress also physically trained for nine freaking months to prepare for the role. By the end, Larson could both deadlift over 200 pounds, and hip-thrust over 400 pounds. Yeah, I know.

And, um, y'all? Larson actually pushed her trainer's Jeep up a hill during a workout, according to InStyle — which doesn't seem possible to me, because I would undoubtedly throw my back out if I tried to do that. But, you know, seemingly impossible things happen every day, right?

As impressive as these physical feats of strength are, the Oscar-winning actress pointed out to InStyle that, in terms of the whole getting-strong-AF thing, while it was rewarding for her personally, it didn't necessarily affect the outcome of the movie, because it's "not really going to look any different with the fact that I can actually lift 225 pounds."

But that doesn't actually matter, and that's not what the strength training was for. According to Larson, it was all for her own benefit in gaining a better understanding of the role, not to mention what her own body is capable of when she works really hard toward something. Larson said that building that strength was about stepping into her body in a way that made her feel powerful and proud of what she was doing.

Plus, let's be real, it's just plain rad to see a buff, kickass woman on the big screen saving lives and generally ~slaying~.

Larson told InStyle,

It doesn't matter to anyone else, but it did to me. Breaking that boundary of what it means for a woman to be muscular and strong and own your body and use it as a tool, that felt meaningful.

Seems to me like she's got this whole superhuman thing down-pat.

Davis vs Ruiz: Media workout quotes

- fevereiro 11, 2019 0 comentários

GERVONTA DAVIS

"I was just watching Hugo Ruiz as I came in here. All I know is that he is fast, he has some speed. It looked like he has some power and good timing. I actually think that this is not a walk in the park, like people think. The fact that this is a late change doesn't concern me because once I get in there, I'll be able to make adjustments. I'm ready.

"It's great to make it to this level. To have people under me like 'Truck' [Lorenzo Simpson], it feels amazing to inspire them to go further in life. It makes me want to push harder so that I can become the best that I can be.

"I come from a city with a lot of violence and things like that, but my mind was always focused on what I wanted to be in life. I traveled when I was super young, so my mindset was never like a typical eight-year-old. I won my first nationals when I was 10 years old. I've seen the world and I've seen the bigger picture. At that time, coming up in the gym, there were guys that I was looking up to that were getting killed in the streets. There were days in the gym where we would get a call that guys we trained with had been killed. I knew that it's either boxing or things wouldn't turn out too good. I knew I had to stay in the gym and stay focused.

"Camp is going great. I feel ready for Saturday night. I'm disappointed that I'm not facing Abner Mares but it doesn't change too much. I heard that he hurt his elbow at first, I didn't know that it was his eye. Once I heard it was his eye, I took it more seriously.

"I wanted to fight Abner. We could probably have done it back home but I gave him the chance to fight in LA. I am the champion, so I'm willing to give him another shot."

HUGO RUIZ

"I feel great. I just came off of training for my last fight but I just feel like I'm continuing that training. I think it's going to serve as great preparation for this next fight. It's only going to be a benefit for me.

"I think this is going to be an explosive fight. We're both known for our knockouts and this is a fight that can end at any moment. It's going to be by a knockout.

"Out of my 39 wins, 33 of them are knockouts so I can say with confidence that I can knock out Gervonta Davis. No fighter is invincible and that's a really possible outcome on Saturday.

"Gervonta Davis is a great fighter. I've watched him fight and I know that he's a very strong fighter with a lot in his arsenal. There's a reason why he's a world champion right now but we know what we're looking for. We have the hunger and the ambition to be triumphant. We have everything we need to beat Gervonta.

"I took the fight on short notice and I just fought, but I am ready. I trained very hard for my last fight and I still feel more than ready to go. I'm very excited to have this world championship opportunity and I am going to take advantage of it and show the world what I can do.

"I had a fight in November where I was training for a lefty. I then had another fight in January where I was preparing for a lefty. They changed my opponent last minute but I was still ready to go. I've been preparing for a lefty for five months and I think that's a huge advantage for me.

"The reason I have so many knockouts is because I like to surprise my opponents and I really think I have something that I can surprise Gervonta with. Come Saturday, we will see how many ways I can surprise him.

"Gervonta is a fighter just like I am. We both are going in there with all the will to win and come Saturday I think we are going to give the people the show that they really want to see. I am ready to put on a spectacular show."

MARIO BARRIOS

"I feel great. I've been training out in the Bay Area with Virgil Hunter since the beginning of December. I was getting great work, sparring with Devin Haney. We got about two or three weeks of great work just going at it. That was tremendous experience just keeping up with him. He's a very explosive fighter and ahead of the curve for his age. I finished off camp sparring with Amir Khan, who is getting ready for his Terrence Crawford fight. So overall, camp was great.

"This is going to be one of my toughest fights but I put in all the hard work in camp and I'm going into Saturday night with no doubts. If I get him hurt, I'm going to look to finish him off but the knockout is not something I'll be looking for right away in the fight.

"I'm thinking about the weather a little bit, but at the end of the day I'm a fighter and I'm going to overcome anything I have to in the ring. Whether it's raining, whether it's cold, once the bell rings it doesn't matter what the weather is.

"I always try to go into my fights being as smart as possible. I always want to box as much as I can but at the end of the day, I'm Mexican so if I get caught with a good punch I'm going to want to sit there and bang. I'm definitely expecting some fireworks. It's going to be an action-packed fight and I guarantee you one of us is going to go down. I've worked my ass off to make sure I'm not going to be the one on the canvas.

"Sparring top guys like Devin Haney and Amir Khan has been great and a huge advantage for me. People would pay top dollar to see that, but all of us were just there appreciating the work because we all need it. That was world class work. You really can't beat it.

"Texas has always been a hotbed for boxing, especially in the cities of San Antonio, Dallas and Houston. Now, we have a lot of upcoming fighters that are really showing out. It's only a matter of time before Texas becomes one of the main capitals for boxing.

"In the next 18 months, I'll hopefully get a shot at a world title. I want to face any one of the champions right now. I feel I'm ready. I've worked my ass off to get to this point and I feel it's only a matter of time before we get that title shot. Right now, my sight is set on the junior welterweight division and we're going to try to take over the division as much as I can. But at the same time, I'm 6'1" and it's only a matter of time before I outgrow the division but as long as I'm here and I can make the weight healthy and I feel strong, we're going to continue to dominate."

RICHARD ZAMORA

"This is my first time in Los Angeles and I'm really excited to fight in a place like LA. This is a really well-known place to fight that I've known about my whole life and I'm ready to put on a showcase that people will recognize. I want people to see me as a great fighter from here on out.

"I've been very focused this entire training camp. My opponent changed late but my objective has not changed whatsoever. Whoever I face on Saturday, I'm ready to fight.

"I'm only 25 years old. Some would say I got a late start because I only started training and boxing when I was 15 or 16 years old but it's always been in my blood. My grandfather was a boxer and I always knew the sport was going to be my calling at the end of the day.

"We look forward to showing off this weekend. I'm ready to show the people of the United States who I am. I want to stand out and showcase what I'm all about. I've shown what I can do in Mexico and now I want everybody in the U.S. to show who I am in America now. To be surrounded by so many talented fighters here, this is the type of fighter I want to be. I want to be recognized the same way the other top fighters around here are.

"I think that Barrios' height is something that I need to think about but I'm not worried about it. I've learned how to fight against different styles and I've fought many different fighters so I am ready for whatever comes my way. I just want to put on a great show so the fans will only have good things to say about me."

JAVIER FORTUNA

"I feel good. We are in weight and in great shape. On Saturday, I will be the best fighter I can be. My new trainer and I are in top shape. We had a really good training camp. This fight is important for me. On Saturday my career at 135 will be defined.

"I have been working very hard in the gym. I have a great strategy and the fans will see on Saturday night what I'm all about. Bogere is aggressive, he comes forward and is a very good boxer but I'm not concerned. I move forward and I'm aggressive too. I can take him.

"Hopefully, that chicken Gervonta Davis will go up to 135. If not, I'm willing to come down to 130 to fight him. I want his belt. I respect his promoters, they know how to take care of him and I have no problem with that but I'm just hoping that he's willing to fight me. He has shown a lack of respect as a human being. He hasn't done what a champion should do and he's fighting guys he shouldn't be fighting.

"What do I think of Gervonta's new opponent? Everybody has social media and can see what the fans are saying about it.

"My fight against [Robert] Easter is hard to swallow. It was one of those fights where you go in there, you work hard, you show you are the better fighter but the judges don't reward you for it. I know I was the better fighter. I won that fight. A lot of people saw it the same way but sometimes the judges go for the business side of things. I was hoping for a rematch but nobody ever gave me the opportunity.

"I want to fight the best fighters out there. I don't care who they are. If they have a title, I'll fight them. If they are good, I'll fight them as well."

SHARIF BOGERE

"Javier Fortuna is a veteran. We have similar experience. He's been there for a long time but so have I. I think we're going to put a on a good show for the people. He makes mistakes and I'm going to capitalize on those.

"This is a dream for me. I've been doing this for over 20 years since I was a little kid. I have a passion for this sport and a lot of people to make proud. Those people keep me going through all of the tough times, the injuries, the setbacks, I'm just so thankful that I have another day and another blessing. I'm so thankful for this opportunity.

"I'm happy to have an opponent finally step up to the plate. I feel people have been avoiding me but he stepped up and I think we're going to put on a great show. We both have an exciting style and I'm looking forward to Saturday. In his fight against Robert Easter Jr., I think he did his best to win the fight but he came up short.

"As my trainer always tells me, keep knocking on the door. One day, they're going to open the door. Saturday, they will open the door. After Saturday night, the world is going to see the 'The Lion' back in the top ten in the world."

Cher, with help of Nile Rodgers’ soul-infused disco, brings the ‘70s back to life: concert review

- fevereiro 08, 2019 0 comentários

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two quotes from Wednesday night's stop of Cher's "Here We Go Again Tour" at sold-out Quicken Loans Arena pretty much summed it up.

One came from opener – and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer – Nile Rodgers, with his band Chic: "We want you to party like it's 1979."

The other came from 72-year-old Cher herself: "What's your Granny doing tonight?''

Rodgers, the baby of the two, at only 66, did his best to get The Q crowd dancing, pounding out the hits he wrote for Chic, Diana Ross, Sister Sledge, David Bowie and even Daft Punk, with Pharrell Williams.

"We Are Family," "Le Freak," "Everybody Dance," "Dance, Dance, Dance" took us all "back to the disco,'' at Rodgers' request. The only thing missing, quite frankly, was a cheesy lighted floor and watered-down rum-and-cokes (my preferred drink when I was gettin' my own 'Hustle' on back in the '70s).

It could've been really awful for we who remember platform shoes, polyester shirts and plate-sized medallions rubbing off the three chest hairs we'd managed to grow at that age, but for one thing: the band.

Chic is an uber-sharp collection of musicians, from guitarist Rodgers to trumpeter Steve Jankowski to sax man Brandon Wright to bassist Jerry Barnes to vocalists Folami and Kimberly Davis to keyboardist and singer (and Bowie channeler) Russell Graham and especially drummer Ralph Rolle, who also adds vocals. Rolle is to drummers what Michael Flatley is to Irish step-dancing. The dude is FAST . . . and amazingly clean.

The combined musicianship is without parallel. Chic has been called the best disco band ever, which in some quadrants could be the ultimate insult. I hated disco. Truly hated it. As in " 'Saturday Night Fever' was a sign of the apocalypse" hated it.

I still don't like the genre, but man, were my eyes – and ears – opened to how it's supposed to be played, and now I can definitely appreciate it. Maybe it's because I've finally forgiven myself for that lousy dance moves to "Play That Funky Music" at the Nesadel, a disco we nicknamed the Nasty-del. I guess they call it perspective.

Regardless, Rodgers and his group got me past my bias, and a lot of others, too, I suspect.

But it was Cher who took us all on a ride into the past. Her revue – you can't really call it a concert, with its Vegas-inspired costumes, dancers, sets and even Cirque du Soleil-style aerialists - was almost an H.G. Wells time machine.

Her show really was more of a live documentary, showcasing her youth, her time with Sonny Bono and their much-loved (and delightfully campy) variety show, her Oscar-winning movie career and, of course, her boundary-stretching musical videos.

As you might expect from the woman who practically invented over-the-top, Cher's stage show began with her and her dancers looking like R-rated Roman centurions as she launched her 90 minutes of stage time with "Woman's World" and followed it up with "Strong Enough."

She interrupted the music with a monologue about turning 40, about how she and Bono developed the shtick that became their television show, about performing on David Letterman's show because she needed $28,000 to pay a hotel bill, about dealing with insults about being too old and not sexy enough from "Witches of Eastwick" co-star Jack Nicholson and director George Miller. Oh and about how she's 72 now, and . . . "What's your Granny doing tonight?"

Interesting stuff, to be sure, but more to the point it put on full display just how fully developed she is as an actor and entertainer. All the timing, the delivery, the effortless "it's just you and me talking" camaraderie with a sold-out Q was there in abundance. We were given a chance to see through the gimmicks, the costumes, the glitz, the extravagant excesses and witness a true professional at work. And it was so slick that it's likely most never even realized it.

Then there was the duet with a videotaped Bono, "I Got You Babe." It's a staple at karaoke bars everywhere, to be sure. But watching an emotional Cher, in full '60s bell-bottomed regalia, sing those lines with a clearly auto-tuned Bono (let's be honest: The guy's vocals pretty closely resembled a goose honking in a flyover) led to a full-blown awwwwww in the crowd that was almost palpable.

I do have to wonder about the choice of covering three ABBA songs (I dislike ABBA even more than disco, just to be honest and up front), "Waterloo,'' "SOS" and "Fernando" and omitting her own hits, like "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" and "Half Breed." But getting to hear her live version of Clevelander Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis" and "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" pretty much made up for it.

They were almost as much fun as the snippets from her Hollywood career, including that "Witches" scene with Nicholson when I would bet money her "motivation" was the recollection of all those nasty things he and Miller had to say.

The kicker, though, might have been the outfit she wore for "If I Could Turn Back Time." It was darn near as revealing as the one she donned in the original 1989 video, filmed aboard the USS Missouri. And while she didn't dance quite as suggestively as she did for that video, she was pretty darn sexy and spry.

What's your Granny doing tonight, indeed.

Christy Carlson Romano's Quotes About ‘Kim Possible’ Are Straight-Up Inspiring – EXCLUSIVE

- fevereiro 01, 2019 0 comentários

They say you shouldn't meet your heroes, but I don't believe that after ending my conversation with Christy Carlson Romano. If you're anything like me, the Disney Channel all star was a key fixture in your childhood, thanks to her roles as overachiever Ren Stevens on Even Stevens and the titular crime-fighting teen on the animated hit Kim Possible. I looked up to Romano because of her unapologetically bold characters, and speaking with her showed me just how right I was to look up to her all those years. Christy Carlson Romano's quotes about Kim Possible are sure to inspire you as much as they inspired me.

It's hard to separate Romano from the characters she played as a teen, mostly because all of them are so fearlessly confident in who they are. Kim is a super competent action heroine. Ren is an intelligent, confident, straight-A student. Romano's character Jennifer from the Disney Channel Original Movie Cadet Kelly is fiercely focused in defending her sense of justice.

I was very blessed to be the voice of a movement in Disney Channel's history.

Romano feels like there was a clear synergy between all her characters. "I think that because all those characters are all so strong and positive," she tells Elite Daily, "I think that's why people kind of saw me as one big Kim-Ren-Romano hyphenate. And I think that had I played three very different characters, maybe people wouldn't associate my voice as Kim Possible so much. But I think that I was very blessed to be the voice of a movement in Disney Channel's history."

Romano's DNA is especially baked into everything about Kim Possible. Every KP detail has a little touch of Romano herself, from the way that Kim talks to her crush (which was based on Romano's own nerves around boys) to the store where Kim works (Kim's Club Banana is an amalgamation of Romano's favorite stores Club Monaco and Banana Republic). Even Kim's most famous catchphrase came straight from Romano herself. The writers asked her what would be a cool way for the character to ask what's up, and Romano replied with what would become one the most iconic questions ever asked: "What's the sitch?"

This February, KP is getting the live-action treatment for the first time in the Disney Channel Original Movie titled Kim Possible, which premieres Feb. 15 at 8 P.M. ET. After years and years of playing the character, Romano feels like she "merged with Kim Possible over time," and so it made perfect sense for her to join the the new movie in a special cameo that's much more than a simple quick appearance. Romano's character is the "larger than life" Poppy Blu, a pop star who swoops in with transportation to help Kim save the day in a moment of need.

Disney Channel

I think we need Kim Possible right now.

It's been 11 years since Kim Possible was on TV, but Romano believes that she couldn't be more relevant or necessary than she is right now. "I think we need Kim Possible right now," she explains. "I think that there's a lot of confusion about what women's empowerment can be and I think that Kim Possible didn't ever have to apologize."

Disney Channel on YouTube

Kim Possible is coming to a new generation with a new young actress named Sadie Stanley stepping into KP's shoes. Romano sees the new iteration of her iconic character as an important part of the KP tradition. "What would Kim Possible be if it wasn't about sisterhood?" she asks.

Romano tells me, "KP is bigger than who plays her. KP is about women's empowerment, girl power, and and it's a really important conversation that KP initiates."

Beyond Kim Possible, Romano is keeping that message of girl power alive in many ways. In the last year, she filmed three movies, including two female-focused thrillers, back-to-back. That was all while traveling with her husband and baby daughter Izzy – and expecting her second baby, who's due at the end of February. Romano's also been spending a lot of time connecting with her fans on social media. In addition to her Facebook and Twitter pages, Romano regularly updates her lifestyle blog with tons of recipes, self-care tips, and more. Her Instagram is not only a great place to find Romano's latest videos and other posts, but it's also a treasure trove of throwback Disney pics.

Romano is also hopeful that Disney will bring back her new Kim Possible character Poppy Blu in some form. She says, "I think that she could be a really a really awesome villain." But in the meantime, Romano is especially excited to see a new generation embrace KP.

She's seen it firsthand with her own daughter Izzy dancing to the theme song and playing with Kim Possible memorabilia. And she's very excited to see KP's brand of girl power inspire today's girls. She tells me, "I can't wait to see little girls dress up as Kim Possible next Halloween."
